There are laws to protect mentally challenged people like Amber Ciofani from exploitation. Who would've thought that she'd need those laws to protect her from the thieves and scammers who infiltrated the Social Security administration? They don't seem to grasp the illegality of what they're perpetrating on Amber Ciofani, who's on Social Security and SSI due to her mental health condition. They recently stole all but $75 (over $400) of her SSI grant in February and the amount that they erroneously say she owes never went down. The thieves obviously intend to due this to her perpetually. Never applying what they steal to the amount they say she owes. Notice how they didn't do this while Amber had a conservator. They waited until she became her own conservator to start victimizing her. They started it over a fairytale "overpayment" of over $10,000!! Even a sloppy conservator would've caught that if it actually happened. But it never did. Amber was never "overpaid", she never received a dime that she wasn't legally entitled to. She should be able to sue them for slander and fraud. It'd be nice for something bad to happen to these criminals.
This is a sad thing to see happen, criminals at northern Michigan Social Security Administration targeting retarded people while they have conservators and then canceling their benefits to collect the ill-gotten-gain .
For those who don't know, the laws are set up so that mentally challenged people can not hold their conservators accountable: They can't access their bank statements to keep tabs on how much is being deposited into their accounts. We need to change this and prosecute the criminals in the SSA who're targeting retarded people like Amber Ciofani.
Amber Ciofani was married for 2 years and had a conservator, Vicki Tuck, during that time. Now SSA is falsely claiming that while Vicki Tuck was in control over Amber's money, they overpaid her by $9227 and they plan to cancel her benefits until they collect the erroneous overpayments. One of the payments they said they made to Amber was in excess of $5,000!! This implies that Amber is a criminal who'd keep such an exorbitant amount without offering to return it.
What really happened is Amber was targeted by criminals in government in northern Michigan who knew they could perpetuate this crime and get away with it. Now, Amber needs help because the criminals at northern Michigan SSA are all complicit and cover for each other under the guise of incompetence. We need to have the northern Michigan SSA staff investigated and charge the criminals guilty of this fraud. Call your legislators to help make a stand for Amber and people like her.
