PETITION TARGET: White County Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Reed McCoy
A cat was allegedly thrown into the street, left paralyzed with a possible broken neck, and ultimately had to be euthanized in a McRae, Arkansas neighborhood, according to local news. Cats — and potentially dogs — are reportedly being cruelly trapped and killed.
Up to six cats have reportedly gone missing, and a pellet gun is thought to be the weapon used to inflict harm. Additionally, the individual suspected of carrying out these cruelties has been keeping rabbits as livestock in his backyard, and his son-in-law claims they are dying at least in part due to neglect.
“He trapped one neighbor’s cat — she was blind, declawed, had one eye — and he killed her,” a neighbor said. “He hung her collar on his porch like some kind of trophy.”
The suspect has since been arrested and is facing two felony animal cruelty charges.
These cats were allegedly subjected to horrific abuse — trapped, shot with a pellet gun, thrown into the street to die — and justice must be served, both for them and to protect other animals from future harm.
Sign our petition urging the White County Prosecuting Attorney to prosecute the individual responsible to the fullest extent of the law — including mandating intensive psychological intervention and a lifelong ban on having animals.
