Two northern Michigan cash advance vendors violated the law this week when they attempted to cash checks from someone after receiving notice of bankruptcy filings.
It went down like this: The victim had two check advance loans out from the two Advance America locations, one in Gaylord and the other in Grayling. The victim filed for bankruptcy and both Advance America locations were served with notices of the filing. At this point, to try to cash the victim’s checks becomes an illegal act. To top it off, Advance America usually gives a 10 day grace period before depositing any check left by a debtor. But, in this case, Advance America deposited the checks on the same day that the loan was due because they already knew that the victim would not be returning to repay the loans.
The victim did not originally put a stop on the checks because she didn’t think that Advance America would blatantly break the law. She did take some precautions, like paying on some bills online before any check could hit and paying her rent from another account, altogether. It’s a good thing that she did that because she checked her bank account a few days later, as she does every day, to discover that she was overdrawn by the exact amount of the checks held by Advance America. Huntington, being the good bank that they are, heard of the illegal attempt by Advance America to cash the checks and put stops on them for the victim. But, had the victim not taken precautions, Advance America would’ve done some real damage to the victim this week. We know it’s what they were hoping for because they’re white and therefore devils who’ll even eat their own for a buck. No shame to that race, huh? Scummy white devils, always trying to steal from other white people.
If you have a payday loan from Advance America and file for bankruptcy, you better pay to put stops on the checks, yo, for real. Those white devils are above the law. Watch how no investigation happenes over this shit, because the perps were white.
